About Us
Growing up in the hills of Southeastern Ohio, it gave me a true appreciation for nature. As I grew into my teens, I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to take shop classes in junior high and high school. Even attending college, at Ohio University, I was able to continue learning from some of the most wonderful people. I knew that one day I wanted to allow my creative side to get reengage and use my hands making things that people would enjoy looking at the true beauty that comes from nature through wood turning.
In 2015 my son headed off to college and I bought my first lathe. As this was something I loved in my high school years. I got started slowly and made a few simple things. I took some pictures and kept my son updated on my progress. He was excited for me and wondered where in the heck I had been hiding this talent. So bam…off I went, taking over half of the garage and learning new and creative ways of turning. I joined the AAW (American Association of Woodturning) and our local chapter in Central Ohio. I have met many talented people around the world via the internet via Webex’s, hands-on seminars and attending a few of the AAW International Symposiums.
In 2023 we were able to fulfill our dream of relocating to beautiful east Tennessee where we had the pleasure of building our dream home and my very own studio. It took over a year to get the studio in operation and then I was tasked with building some builtins for the house. Recently those were completed and now I am prepared in 2026 to get into full turning mode. I've come a long way in a few years and there still is much to learn. I am still an active member of the AAW and have joined the local chapter here in east Tennessee. I am extremely excited for this next chapter and can't wait to share it with you all... or y'all, as we say in East Tennessee.
“Take care, stay safe and share the love of nature.”
